Ham soup

If you want to make something delicious but at the same time nourishing – cook soup. Soups can

be hot and cold, thick and thin, meat and vegetable. The recipes can be so different! This simple

and quick recipe of ham soup will not leave you cold. It’s ideal for family celebration or every

day dinner.

For ham soup you need:

– 4 potatoes

– 1 onion

– 1/3 cup of celery

– ¾ cup of ham

– 3 ¼ cups of water

– Salt to taste

– Black pepper to taste

– 5 tablespoons of butter

– 5 tablespoons of all-purpose flour

– 2 cups of milk

Peel the potatoes, dice them and put into a large pot. Then add to the potatoes diced ham,

sliced onion and chopped celery. Pour water into the vegetable mixture and bring to a boil. Cook

it for about 15 minutes until the potatoes become tender. Don’t forget about spices: season your

soup with salt and black pepper to your taste.

While your soup is boiling, prepare special sauce. Take a different saucepan and melt butter in it.

Then add flour and continue stirring the sauce constantly to make it thick. The process will take

you only 1 or 2 minutes. Then slowly pour milk into your sauce and cook it for about 5 minutes

more. Be careful: there mustn’t be any lumps in your sauce.

Pour the sauce into the pot, stir the soup and cook it for about 5-6 minutes. Serve it hot.

Cucumber salad

Summer gives an excellent opportunity to vary our menu with different fruit and

vegetables. In hot, stuffy days home-cooked vegetable salads are beyond any competition.

Delicious and refreshing, they allow us to stay healthy and become fit. This great cucumber salad

is taken from Hungarian cuisine and has all chances to become your favorite.

So, to make this salad you need:

– 2 cucumbers

– 1 onion

– 3 tablespoons of vinegar

– Some fresh dill

– 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil

– Salt to taste

– Black pepper to taste

Slice the cucumbers and onion, put them into a large bowl and toss. Chop some dill and

put it into the bowl with cucumbers, season the cucumber mixture with black pepper and salt to

your taste. In a different bowl mix vinegar and vegetable oil and then pour it over the future

salad. That’s all! Only several minutes and your salad is ready!

Brownie… You can’t even imagine how much this word means to chocolate lovers and children! This amazing American dessert looks good and tastes divine! Ideal brownies have dry crust, chocolate gummy body and unforgettable vanilla aroma. Sounds delicious? Let’s try to make brownies using my mom’s recipe. Be sure the result will surprise you! So, for 16 brownies you need:

– ½ cup butter

– 1 cup white sugar

– 2 eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1/3 cup cocoa powder

– ½ cup all purpose flour

– ¼ teaspoon salt

– ¼ teaspoon baking powder

First, take butter, melt it in a saucepan and then let it cool down a bit. After that add eggs one at a time, sugar and vanilla extract and mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Wait for several minutes and stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt and baking powder. If you do everything right your batter will be smooth and thick. Pour the batter into a pan, smooth the surface of it and bake it in a hot oven (350 degrees F – 175 degrees C) for about 30 minutes. Use a toothpick to check if it is ready (the toothpick should be a little moist with the batter). Cool the brownies down and cut them into 16 rectangles. Enjoy your meal!
